Tree Removal
Tree removal of small trees presents no special problems. In fact, some homeowners choose to tackle small tree removal themselves. However, tree disposal can definitely offer a challenge - especially if the tree is infected and must be removed from the property. Tree Pruning
More commonly referred to as tree trimming, tree pruning is the most common tree maintenance procedure. Trees require a higher level of care to maintain their health, safety and aesthetics. Tree pruning should be done with an understanding of how the tree responds to each cut. Improper tree pruning can cause damage that will last for the life of your tree or worse, shorten the life span of the tree.
When preparing for tree pruning, be aware that each cut has the potential to change or alter the new growth of your tree. No tree limb should be removed without a reason. A Registered Certified Consulting Arborist can assist you in making the right decisions... whether it pertains to a young tree or a mature tree.
Common reasons for tree pruning include the removal of dead wood, crowded or interfering tree limbs and the elimination of potential hazards. Additionally, trees may be pruned to increase light and movement of air through to the landscape. In most cases, this type of tree pruning (structural pruning) is required annually or biannually. Structural pruning is always based on the character and genetics of the tree. It should never be compromised.
Under the guidance of a Registered and Board Certified Master Arborist, an expert with the education and knowledge of tree biology - proper tree pruning can maintain good tree health and tree structure while enhancing the aesthetic and economic values of your landscape.
