Plant Health Care
In today’s urban and suburban environments, trees and shrubs are subject to severe stress from poor soil, drought, improper planting techniques, soil compaction and more. Plant Health Care (PHC) is a preservation process tailored to meet the needs of the trees and shrubs on your landscape and to minimize the causes of stress.
Trees growing in their natural element do extremely well without human help. This is not the case in urban and suburban environments, where the soils are generally deficient in the basic nutrients they receive in a more natural environment. Because the soil around the trees cannot replenish itself with these natural nutrients, the soil should be supplemented with additives.
Most health problems associated with trees can be linked to past environmental stress. Healthy trees have natural defenses. When a tree is stressed, it is more vulnerable to insects and disease. Our annual PHC plan plays an important part in disease prevention by providing trees and shrubs with stress-reducing nourishment and hydration.
In addition, many abnormalities in trees are closely associated with plant nutrient deficiencies. The effects of undernourishment are usually evident in gradual decline in the vigor of the tree. These low vigor trees are much more likely to attract diseases, damaging insects and parasites.
The products we use to treat trees and shrubs are patented and researched. They offer the highest quality nutrients, which are even safe and friendly to newly transplanted trees and shrubs. We also apply medicines to prevent a broad spectrum of damaging insects.
Professional Arborists (tree doctors) recognize the benefits trees derive from annual feeding and for this reason always emphasize the importance of such a practice. Medicines can be added to reduce insect damage, allowing the trees to channel energy into vigor and vitality instead of into fighting off insects and repairing the damage caused.
Trees are assets and when they are well maintained, their value increases over the years. Trees and shrubs are living organisms that require food and water just as humans do. Our annual PHC plan provides your trees and shrubs with the nutrients they need for optimum health and vigor.
Plant Health Care is the most important part of any tree maintenance plan. It is also the most frequently overlooked. See The Arborist Journal
